Nothing playing

Paste an address above. If a video refuses to play, the buttons under the frame will get you to it another way.

When a video will not embed

Most of the time the problem is the address, not a block. A /watch URL cannot be framed by anyone — YouTube sends X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN on it. Only /embed/<id> is meant to be framed. This page rewrites whatever you paste into the embed form, which fixes the overwhelming majority of cases on its own.

What is left are real refusals, and they are the uploader's choice or Google's, not something a page can argue with:

  • Embedding turned off — the uploader ticked the box. You get a black frame reading "Watch on YouTube". Nothing client-side changes this.
  • Age restricted — needs a signed-in account, which an embed does not have.
  • Region blocked or taken down — no player anywhere will help.

For those, the two buttons that actually work are Open on YouTube and Open in a blank window. Both make it a top-level page instead of a frame, and top-level pages are never subject to embed rules.

The third-party front ends are a real option and worth knowing about, but go in with your eyes open. Google actively blocks them: Piped instances are mostly down or blocked, and Invidious maintainers have been fighting IP blocks for years to the point of shipping an address-rotation tool for server operators. Whichever instance you pick will work for a while and then stop. Routing around an uploader's embed setting is also against YouTube's terms, so use your judgement about where you put this.
